February 2015

"Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail," will stop the NYNYN from doing the Lord's work! We have had all 4 of these weather patterns this month and it has been one of the coldest ever! We had a record low of -23 in Scarsdale this past month! BRRR!!
But nothing will keep our amazing missionaries from coming and going. Transfers this month were great. We had 21 missionaries return home to their families. They are Loyal to the CORE in every way.
Elder Henry Diaz, Elder Jerek Lewis, Elder Joseph Sevy, Elder Brandon Miller, Elder Michael Delahunty, Elder Lucas Rydalch, Elder Ben Hunt, Elder Zach Jensen, Elder Adam Kia, Elder David Reynolds, Elder Cameron Burr, Elder Brett Cloward, Elder Hayden Kroff, and Sister Emily Livingston, Sister Marcella Toronto, Sister Savannah Astle, Sister Tessa Palmer, Sister Sadie Dodson, Sister Manielyn Arquero, Sister Yesenia Hoyos, Sister Victoria Tirado
At the Manhattan Temple on a frigidly cold day!!

We also welcomed 14 new missionaries to the field.
Sister Erika Smith, Sister Dakodah Terry, Sister Madeleine DeFord, Sister Erin Geiger, Sister Kayla Larsen, Sister Holly McAlister, Sister Alexis Spender, Sister Makenna Petersen, Elder Alec Unice, Elder Ryan Cheney, Elder Darius Nutall, Elder Kaden Muirbrook, Elder Anthony Jagneaux, Elder Christopher Rankin

The following week on February 24, 2015 we were blessed to have Elder Brett Baker return to the mission. We have missed him and welcome him back. We also had Elder Chasen Sanford come as another new missionary. We now number 243 missionaries in the NYNYN!
Elder Carlos Glick has been a 2 transfer missionary from Statton Island, NY and we were so excited when he got his offical call to serve in the NYNYN. Elder Glick is loved by everyone! He left us this month to go to the MTC in Provo. He loved his experience there. We welcomed him back home to the NYNYN on February 19th.

The Dynamic Trio
Elder Carlos Glick, "That's Right!"
The highlight of our month was being able to go to Utah for 48 hours. The Church had asked mission presidents and wives who have been using iPads and social mediae for a one day training. We met with 30 other mission presidents from around the country whose missions have digital devices. We were taught by Elder David A. Bednar, Elder Russel M. Nelson, Elder Whitney L. Clayton and Elder David F. Evans of the Seventy.  The best part was spending 24 hours with our family. What a gift!!! We will be forever grateful for the support and love we have felt from our sons, their wives, and our grand-children while we have served in the New York New York North Mission.
There isn't anything quite as wonderful as a sleeping 2 1/2 year old holding her Grandpa Tom's hand!
