October 2014

This month started with our 2 boys leaving the NYNYN and moving home to Utah. We are so proud of Peter and Ryan and everything they have both accomplished in the last 2 years. Peter served so faithfully in Chile and Ryan graduated from Scarsdale High School. It will seem strange to not have them here with us, but we are very excited for the adventures that await them.

We have been so blessed to share our mission experience with these wonderful young man.

We said good-bye to some wonderful couples this month. Elder and Sister Pead have served so faithfully at the church Employment Center. Elder and Sister Draper; Elder and Sister Christensen; Elder and Sister Clark, have all served as great MLS couples. Elder and Sister Finlayson have been a huge blessing in the office.
The Finlaysons and the Clarks will be missed. The Wilson's came to join us.
October General Conference brings one of our favorite traditions of the Waffle Party between sessions!

WAFFLE PARTY with the Westchester Zone

A few of our missionaries had the chance to do some filming for a New Missionary Training video that the church is doing. It was great to watch Elder Bradley Richards and Elder Quin Ficklin talk about some of their missionary experiences.

We had the privilege of hosting Elder L. Tom Perry and his sweet wife Barbara and Elder Donald Hallstrom and his wonderful wife Diane at the mission home. Elder Perry lived in Scarsdale in the 1960's and loves to come visit. He and Elder Hallstrom spoke at our ward, Westchester 1st Ward. Elder Perry said it was so nice to be in his "home" ward for sacrament meeting. After church we had lunch at our home. Sister Morgan's parents were also here to enjoy the day, Byron and Joan Fisher. Elder Perry gave a fireside in the City that same evening.

Transfers this month were so nice. We had 12 new missionaries arrive. We love these great young men and woman that are coming to us.

We were able to get the whole mission together and watch "Meet the Mormons". Everyone LOVED the movie!
Grandma Joan and Grandpa Byron Fisher loved giving grandparent hugs to all the missionaries!

Elder Critchfield returned to us after being home for the last 5 months. He is feeling much better and we are thrilled to have him back. We picked him up at the airport, took him to dinner with assistants and then right to his area. He's such a great missionary, he hit the ground running and hasn't missed a beat!

11 faithful missionaries returned home to their families this month! Loyal to the CORE in every way!
