The mission has had a busy month. Our motto has been "Change is the only constant".  Some of the highlights of the month have been received Elder Wang

  Awonderful set of Zone Conferences on May 7, 9, & 10. The President and Assistants presented a wonderful uplifting meeting. Dr. Aldous provided wise council and met with missionaries individually who requested advice.

and Ryan Morgan have received some publicity on lds.org and in the Deseret News Church News Section. We are famous!

During May the mission participated in two service activities. The Manhattan zones worked for three days with the Relvon Walk Run in the city.

The Westchester, Olmstead, and Kingsbridge Zones worked to prepare Camp Liahona for the summer season. What a beautiful setting to work!

The Peads

The Senior Couples number grew with the addition of Elder & Sister Pead (CES) and Elder & Sister Hanson (Family History) but were sad to say good-bye to Elder & Sister Wheelwright and Elder & Sister Passey. They enjoyed a great tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and picnic in the Botanical Gardens.

Transfers on May 29th was full of big changes. A well loved Assistant to the President was released and a wonderful new Assistant was sustained. We will miss Elder Hutchins so much.

Seven of our wonderful friends finished their service and returned home on May 30th. Their influence and leadership impacted us all and we will miss them.

March comes in with a roar!

March sure came in with a roar this year. We were blessed to have 40 missionaries come to New York this transfer.(this includes 3 elders that came at the end of February) It's the largest transfer that we have heard about coming to one mission anywhere in the USA. We had to hire a large bus to transport everyone and their luggage to our ward building for dinner and testimony meeting. Then we had the bus drive them all to a hotel that is close by for a good nights sleep. Our little Westchester County airport was overrun with these great missionaries!

We were so excited when our good friends the Hancocks came to visit. Ashley, TJ, Sherry and Larry Hancock joined us for a session of Zone conference.  We were able to have TJ bear his testimony to all the missionaries and they could really feel his special spirit!

We LOVE being with our missionaries. We had some wonderful days of Zone Conference this month.

Returning home this month was a group of faithful, happy missionaries!

February 2013

February still brings a lot of cold weather to New York. The sun can be shining. Then you walk outside and the humid cold air takes your breath away. But, we love it. We had 3 new missionaries come mid-transfer this month. Elder Wang and Elder Romo joined us. Then a couple of weeks later Elder Sprunt also came. All 3 of these young men are great.

We were so excited when Sister Ngosha wanted to come and cook our family a traditional Tanzanian dinner. Sister Ngosha taught us about her culture and made some wonderful food. Her companions, Sister McCurdy and Sister Maldarizzi also helped cook and we enjoyed a nice evening together.

We are blessed with wonderful Zone Leaders and we have two wonderful traveling Sisters who have been a fantastic help with all the Sisters in our mission.

January 2013

January 2013 brings a bright new year to New York. We had a wonderful specialty training meeting for our sister missionaries. Each sister younger or older adds so much to our mission. We are so lucky to have each and every one of them here with us!!

We talked about being 100% wrapped up in missionary work and giving 100% in all that  you do. Then we gave each sister a different color of pashmina scarf to "wrap" up with.

Transfers came again this month with a new group of exciting young Elders and Sisters. We are continually blessed to receive these amazing young men and women here.

Sister Taylor, Sister Asregadoo, Sister Alvarez, Sister Lui, and Elder Bowker all returned home this month. We are so blessed to have them as a part of our mission family.
